The rasi chart itself — each 30° sign maps to itself.

Each sign splits into two 15° halves. In odd signs the first half maps to Leo and the second to Cancer; in even signs the order reverses.

Each sign splits into three 10° drekkanas, mapping to the sign itself, the 5th from it, and the 9th from it.

Each sign splits into four 7°30′ quarters, mapping to the sign itself, the 4th, the 7th and the 10th from it.

Each sign splits into seven equal parts. Odd signs count the parts from the sign itself; even signs from the 7th sign from it.

Each sign splits into nine 3°20′ navamsas. Movable signs count from the sign itself, fixed signs from the 9th, and dual signs from the 5th.

Each sign splits into ten 3° parts. Odd signs count from the sign itself; even signs from the 9th from it.

Each sign splits into twelve 2°30′ parts, counted from the sign itself.

Each sign splits into sixteen parts. Movable signs count from Aries, fixed from Leo, dual from Sagittarius.

Each sign splits into twenty 1°30′ parts. Movable signs count from Aries, fixed from Sagittarius, dual from Leo.

Each sign splits into twenty-four 1°15′ parts. Odd signs count from Leo; even signs from Cancer.

Each sign splits into twenty-seven parts. Fiery signs count from Aries, earthy from Cancer, airy from Libra, watery from Capricorn.
